Mementos Persona 5 Guide

Persona 5‘s Mementos are dungeons that appear early in the story. Unlike the Persona Palaces with their fixed structure, they are randomly generated levels similar to Persona 4’s Midnight Channel or Persona 3’s Tartarus. Making progress in Mementos is optional, but I strongly recommend that you don’t ignore it, as it has handy functions.

You can access this unique Dungeon for the first time after completing the first of the Palaces. Unlike the latter, you will find a subway labyrinth formed by multiple randomly generated floors each time you enter, so you will always have to look for the exit by exploring its corridors.

It will also be the destination of the secondaries of the game since it will be in the mementos where you will be able to solve the requests, which will consist of killing shadows located in these labyrinths. Therefore, concerning the requests, I recommend accumulating a few to avoid wasting a lot of time going back and forth.

Description

This dungeon has several areas that will be unlocked gradually as you progress through the story. Its great attractions lie in that you can always travel here to fight whenever you want or need to. In addition, it’s an excellent place to level up, get yen, recruit people, etc.

Mementos maps are randomly generated, so I can’t give you a step-by-step guide. However, I can provide you with a few tips:

• You don’t need to face the Requests at the moment. You can save several of them and meet them all at once in a single trip. Considering that the game has a time limit, I  recommend that you accumulate a few before traveling there. Do not accumulate too many, or you will run out of resources while you are there.
• If possible, visit them when it’s raining: it raises the difficulty but increases the loot received and the number of chests, gives you more money and EXP, and increases the chance of finding Treasure Demons.
• Unless you want to level up, I suggest you leave a plant as soon as you have eliminated the target to save resources. The further you go down, the larger the areas you explore and the farther apart the save rooms will be, so you don’t want to find yourself short of resources at a great distance from one of them.

Key Features and Moments

After finding out a target’s name in the real world, the Phantom Thieves can find and defeat the target’s Shadow in Mementos in a boss fight to make the target have a change of heart. Doing so will reward the group with an item.

Head over to Memento, locate the Path of Aiyatsbus, Area 2, and defeat Shadow Takanashi.

Head to Mementos, proceed to area 6 of the Path of Aiyatsubus, and defeat Shadow Makigami.

One Who Bullies

Select requests to travel to Mementos from the hideaway. Area 5 is where you’ll find the Path of Aiyatsbus. Look around for a “!” and then defeat Shadow Sakoda.

Sadism Is Just a Sign of Love

Go to the hideout and select requests to go to Mementos. Then, search for the Path of Aiyatsbus, Area 7, to defeat Shadow Shimizu.
